DAUGHTERS OF SILENCE is a powerful drama set during the Baby Scoop Era, when thousands of unmarried young women were pressured, coerced, and often forced to surrender their newborns for adoption. Set in 1963-64 Tennessee, the play follows two very different teenage girls, Leah and Zoe, as they navigate pregnancy, family expectations, religious authority, and a system that offers them little choice. Twenty-three years later, their enduring friendship brings them back to confront the past and the children they were forced to leave behind.
